It is with a huge sense of joy that we have welcomed our students, families, and staff back and we have completed our first full week of school for the year. 2026 promises to be a vibrant and inspiring school year. Walking through and visiting many classrooms this week I have been so impressed by the purposeful energy in every room; our students have settled into their class learning routines with curiosity, focus and enthusiasm, setting a wonderful tone for the months ahead.
Equally pleasing is the laughter and spirit of fun, collaboration seen during outside play, where new friendships are already forming and our community spirit is on full display. We look forward to a year of growth, achievement, and shared success.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in our beautiful Beginning of Year School Mass on Wednesday. It was a terrific way to start our journey together, and I was incredibly moved by the reverence shown by all students; their respectful behavior created a powerful atmosphere for this important whole school Mass. The level of participation from our students across all year levels was also very pleasing and our school choir was outstanding, providing a magnificent singing for us all. We extend our sincere thanks to Fr Joel for celebrating with us and a special thank you to Miss Jodi for her planning and dedication in organising such a meaningful celebration for our Catholic School community.
During the holiday break Nazareth Parish received the news that the current parish name has been approved to change to Damascus Parish as of the 22nd February 2026. Please find attached a letter form our parish priest, Fr Joel Peart on behalf of the parish leadership team. Damascus Parish Rename Letter
We know how special birthdays are for our students, and we love sharing in their excitement! To ensure a consistent and inclusive environment for everyone, we kindly ask that parents do not send in gifts, lollies, or tokens to be distributed for student birthdays. Because every classroom has unique schedules and varying dietary requirements, our teachers celebrate these milestones through special school-based traditions that differ across each year level. This approach allows us to focus on making your child feel celebrated by their peers and teachers without the logistical challenges of external treats. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our celebrations simple, safe, and focused on the birthday child.
Uniform Reminder: Looking Our Best Together
To maintain a sense of pride and professional standards within our school community, we would like to share a brief reminder regarding our uniform policy. Consistent dress helps students stay focused and ensures a safe environment for everyone.
- Standard Uniform: Students are expected to wear St Catherine of Siena uniform daily.
- Footwear: Please note that runners/sneakers are for PE days only. On regular school days, black school shoes must be worn.
- Hair & Grooming: For health, safety, and a neat appearance, all hair that is shoulder length must be tied back and kept tidy.
We appreciate your support in helping our students represent the school so well. If you have any questions regarding specific uniform items, please don't hesitate to reach out to the front office.
St Catherine of Siena Prayer
St Catherine of Siena
You had a strong vision for learning,
A desire to bring the love of God into everyone’s hearts
and the bravery to make a difference through your actions.
May we take inspiration and courage from your words to,
Be who we were created to be, and we will set the world on fire.
We ask this through Christ our Lord,
Amen.
